What to expect during your first boudoir session
If you've been thinking about booking a boudoir session but can't shake the butterflies, you're not alone.
Nearly every client who walks through my studio doors tells me the same thing: "I've always wanted to do this, but I'm so nervous."
I've got great news for you... That's completely normal!
Boudoir isn't something most people do every day. It's vulnerable, personal, and often happens during a meaningful season of life—whether you're preparing for your wedding, celebrating a milestone, reconnecting with yourself after motherhood, or simply deciding it's time to do something just for you.
And do you want even better news? You don't have to know what you're doing.
That's what I'm here for.
Before you arrive
Once your session is booked, you'll receive everything you need to feel prepared—from wardrobe guidance to tips on how to get the most out of your experience.
And I know you probably have a million thoughts swirling around in your head so let me be the first to say:
You don't need modeling experience.
You don't need to know how to pose.
And you definitely don't need to have the "perfect" body.
The only thing you need to bring is yourself.
If you're feeling nervous beforehand, that's okay. Most of my clients are. By the time we're a few minutes into your session, those nerves usually start to melt away.
Hair, Makeup & Getting Ready
Your session begins with a chance to settle in and be pampered.
Professional hair and makeup help you feel polished, but they're also part of slowing down and making space for yourself. This isn't about becoming someone else—it's about helping you feel like the most confident version of yourself.
While you're getting ready, we'll chat, listen to music, laugh, and ease into the day together.
By the time you're in front of the camera, it won't feel nearly as intimidating as you imagined.
"But I Don't Know How to Pose..."
This is probably the number one concern I hear.
Here's the truth:
You don't have to know a single pose.
I guide you through every movement—from where to place your hands to where to look, how to angle your body, even when to take a deep breath.
Instead of stiff, overly posed images, I focus on natural movement and genuine emotion. Small adjustments make a huge difference, and I'll be coaching you the entire time.
You'll never be left wondering what to do next.
It's More Relaxed Than You Think
One of the biggest surprises clients tell me after their session is how much fun they had.
We'll celebrate the little moments.
We'll laugh when something feels silly.
We'll take breaks if you need them.
There's no pressure to rush or perform.
This is your experience, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Privacy Comes First
Feeling safe and respected is one of the most important parts of your experience.
Everything we do is centered around your comfort and consent.
You'll always have control over what you wear, what you're comfortable photographing, and how your images are shared.
Nothing is ever published without your explicit permission.
This experience is yours.
The Image Reveal
After your session, you'll get to see yourself through a completely different perspective.
For many clients, this becomes the most emotional part of the entire experience.
It's not because they suddenly look different.
It's because they finally see themselves with the same kindness and admiration that everyone else already sees.
There's often laughter.
Sometimes tears.
Almost always a moment of, "I can't believe that's me."
And that's exactly why I love what I do.
