I’m Julia — but everyone calls me Jewels, the photographer, hype woman, and occasional playlist DJ behind Photography by Jewels.

I am someone who has never met a stranger. Seriously. You may walk into a session with me for the first time worried that you’ll be judged when I’m actually the weirdest person in the room (A title I proudly hold). 

I know what it’s like to have your body criticized and to feel like you’ve had your consent taken away. It’s why I’ve thoughtfully created the business I have today. At Boudoir with Jewels, you can expect a size inclusive wardrobe (XS-3X), an all-women team, and privacy where only the two of us are together during your session.

I chose boudoir photography because I love the fact that I can take someone who isn’t feeling themselves and make them see why everyone else is wrong. You’re beautiful and you don’t need to change, it’s society who needs to. This is essentially my big middle finger to all the people that think they have a right in making us feel bad about ourselves. We should be able to love ourselves and who we are through all seasons of life. We came into this world naked, why wouldn’t we enjoy our birthday suits?!

At the end of the day, I want this to be a safe space where women and couples can take their power back. You’ll never have anything to prove with me, because I already know how amazing you are. I’m just here to finally capture what I see.
